1 – Moon
The moon is our nearest neighbor, which makes it a great candidate to house the first off-earth colony of the human race. The inhabitants of a possible lunar station lived a kind of life inside. However, the atmospheric pressure on the surface of Venus is not the most ideal either, since it is at least 90 times higher than Earth’s. But possibly we would find ways around this problem. The cool thing would be that we would live in floating cities, 50 kilometers above the planet’s surface. The temperature would be somewhere around 40 ° C, bearable, and it would probably be necessary to wear outerwear and breathing equipment.
4 – Titan
One of the main reasons why Saturn’s moon is placed on the list of possible habitable places in the universe is that Titan has several lakes full of liquid hydrocarbons. This is hundreds of times larger than the oil and natural gas reserves we have on Earth. But beyond that, Titan is one of the most livable places in the solar system due to several factors. Among them, their atmospheres rich in nitrogen and methane, and also evidence of the existence of liquid water and ammonia below the surface. Not to mention that this water could be used to generate breathing air.
5 – Europe
The universe is very vast, and we should not limit ourselves. Europe is one of the four natural satellites on the planet Jupiter, and can be considered one of the most livable places in the solar system, near Earth and Titan. Scientists believe that there could be a huge ocean of liquid water under the icy surface. This could provide us with water to survive and also to produce breathable oxygen and even fuel.
6 – Interstellar Ships
If we really want to get off Earth, we should consider living in interstellar ships. Due to the great distances between the points in the universe, if we were to leave Earth, we would need to be prepared for everything. Until they reached their final destination, many would live, reproduce, and die on large interstellar ships. These structures would be like flying cities or even countries, and could house entire communities. These societies lived in the vacuum of interstellar space.
7 – Exoplanets
To date, thousands of exoplanets have been discovered . Some of them with potential characteristics that could be adapted to receive human life. The star Gliese 667 C, for example, is located about 23 light years from Earth, and houses at least three rocky planets believed to be in a habitable zone. It also has the Kepler 442b, an exoplanet that was discovered in 2015, nicknamed Terra 2.0. This is because of its resemblance to our planet.
